On June 19, the Hard Rock Calling festival in London's Hyde Park reached its climax with a performance from the one and only, Rod Stewart!
In a show that proved he is undoubtedly still one of the greats, Rod wowed the audience with a collection of his greatest hits against the backdrop of a full band, backing singers, a horn section and even a violinist. The performance had the energy of a man half his age and even included 3 costume changes!
Now, seeing the man himself rock Hyde Park would surely have to be one of life's true highlights, but it actually got even better!
For his performance of 'Young Turks', Rod was joined on stage by none other than Stevie Nicks (of Fleetwood Mac fame) and for his rendition of 'Maggie May', he was joined on stage by… Ronnie Wood! (Yes! The Rolling Stone! And for the music connoisseurs amongst you… his bandmate in the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces)
On hand to witness this absolutely phenomenal performance was a Littlewoods promotion-winning High Roller and their guest, and what an evening they had. As if seeing Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks and Ronnie Wood wasn't enough to make your legs turn to jelly, the pair watched the entire event from a VIP seating area with exclusive chillout zone, lavish barbeque and complimentary bar. If you've ever thought it wasn't worth taking part in our exclusive High Roller promotions, then think again. On May 27th, a lucky High Roller promotion winner and their guest were flown from the UK to Gibraltar before being driven to the Luxurious Almenara Spa Hotel in Spain's picturesque Sotogrande area to join a group of VIP promotions winners for an all-expenses paid weekend of fun. The hotel is situated in the grounds of a stunning golf course and overlooks the crystal clear blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
The group was met on the first night by Littlewoods VIP Operations Manager, Shelley, before being wined and dined at a local Argentinean Grill. The food was so delicious, that one VIP even uttered the phrase 'this is the best steak I've ever eaten'.
The following day, the High Roller, the VIPs, and their guests were taken to Gibraltar to sample some of the fantastic shopping opportunities and also the endless tourist attractions (such as the stunning St. Michael's Cave, Europa Point and of course, a visit to see the Apes). A lavish lunch was enjoyed by all in Gibraltar's beautiful Queensway Marina.
That evening, Account Manager, Diego, and Senior Account Manager, Jose, met with the group and escorted them to the fabulous El Molino del Conde Restaurant in Castellar where they not only enjoyed a traditional Spanish meal, but were also lucky enough to be given a tour of the wine cellar by the restaurant owner.

Littlewoods Casino celebrates “The Heroes of ‘66” in style
On June 3, High Roller Kevin H. and 2 guests attended what was perhaps the most exclusive World Cup event to be held in England, courtesy of Littlewoods Casino. Kevin was the lucky instant winner of our “Heroes of ‘66 World Cup Event” giveaway and his reward was a memorable evening full of English football history.
The evening was hosted by well-known presenter, Tim Lovejoy, and held at the luxurious Hendon Hall Hotel, Hendon, North London. Hendon Hall has a strong historic connection with the World Cup being the headquarters of Sir Alf Ramsey’s England squad for over a month during their triumphant 1966 World Cup run.
The principal guests of the night were goalkeeper Gordon Banks and striker Roger Hunt, two of the brightest stars for the 1966 side. All the guests had an opportunity to be photographed with the legends. Later, a video of the 1966 World Cup was shown, followed by a very informative question and answer session hosted by Gordon and Roger. Prizes were also awarded for correct answers to World Cup trivia. Everyone involved had an excellent evening.

High Roller joins VIPs at the Cirque!
On Saturday February 13, one lucky High Roller and their guest got the chance to join 4 Littlewoods VIPs and their guests at London's Royal Albert Hall to enjoy one of the most fabulous sights in modern entertainment, the Cirque du Soleil Varekai show.
The group spent the weekend at a luxurious London hotel, before being taken to the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night where they were met with a fully catered champagne reception.
On hand to host this amazing event and make sure that everyone had a wonderful time were Littlewoods Managers Keely and Bruce, and it seems that their efforts did not go unnoticed.
