Baccarat is a card game with a long disputed history. Its origins argumentatively derive from either France or Italy ; the fact that baccarat is a dialectal Italian word for "zero" implies the latter. After various rule evolutions the Baccarat we know arrived in Nevada in the 1950's, since then its popularity has grown to become a popular casino game online and one of the most popular at Littlewoods online casino.
The aim of Baccarat is to gain a total value of 9 with your hand. However in the game of baccarat you can bet on the dealers hand to be closer to 9, your hand to be closer to 9 or you can even bet on a tie between the two hands. The varied betting options, and the fact that the rules of this popular casino game are easy to learn and simple to follow, make baccarat one of our most popular games. Once you have enjoyed a few hands with Littlewoods you will be a confident Baccarat player.
Playing Baccarat with Littlewoods offers you the option to play multi-player or single play modes as well as bets that range from as little as £1 to a high roller maximum of £1500.
Before the cards are dealt in Baccarat you must decide how much you would like to bet. As with other card games at Littlewoods online casino your chips are stacked by denomination (£1, £5, £25, £100, £500) at the bottom of the game window. Left clicking will increase your wager amount and right clicking removes your wager from the table. Your total bet will be displayed in the 'bet' just below Username. You may repeat your last bet by clicking on the 'rebet' button or by simply hitting the "0" button of your numeric keyboard.
Once you have decided how much to bet you click the 'deal' button. Four cards will be dealt; 2 make the bankers hand, 2 make your hand. Before they were dealt you betted upon which hand you think will be closer to the value of 9. You also have the option of betting on the two hands being a tie. The hand total is made up of the card values, example:
Hand | Hand Total |
9+7=16 | 6 |
5+5+5=15 | 5 |
10+9=19 | "Natural" 9 |
If you bet the right hand or you foresee a tie you will win at Baccarat. But there is a third card rule:
A third card will only be drawn if the bankers first two cards reach a total between 0 and 7. In the event of this the players hand is in accordance with the following circumstances:
Player's Hand | Draw? |
0-5 | Player's hand must draw |
6-7 | Player's hand must stand |
8-9 | "Natural" (both hands stand) |
After the Player's Hand acts on a third card draw, the Banker's Hand receives a third card according to these rules:
Banker's Hand | Draw? |
0-2 | Banker's hand must draw |
3-6 | Third card to Player's hand determines draw or stand |
7 | Banker's hand must stand |
When the Banker's two cards total between 3-6:
Banker's Hand | Banker's hand draws when Player's third card is: | Banker's hand does not draw when Player's third card is: |
3 | 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-9 | 8 |
4 | 2-3-4-5-6-7 | 0,1,8,9 |
5 | 4-5-6-7 | 0-1-2-3-8-9 |
6 | 6-7 | 0-1-2-3-4-5-8-9 |
If the Player's hand stands on two cards (6,7), then a two card Banker hand totaling 3,4,5 must draw and a Banker hand totaling 6 must stand.
Wager and Result | Payoff |
A winning Player hand wager | 1 to 1 |
A winning Banker hand wager | 1 to 1 but the player must pay a 5% commission to the bank |
A winning Tie wager | 8 to 1 |
